About The Actor's Lounge

Our aim at The Actor’s Lounge is to create a space for you to explore the beautiful craft of acting, play, grow, and most of all have fun, whether you want to be a professional actor or it’s something you’ve always wanted to do but never tried till now – there’s a class for you!

For aspiring professionals, we can help with all aspects of the industry from choosing photographers for headshots, compiling your showreel, approaching agents to where to get that all important first experience.

For professionals, we fine tune the skills you already have and give you the tools in order to deepen your technique and also give you the confidence to trust your instincts. There is no “one shoe fits all” at The Actor’s Lounge, we are experts in understanding what you personally need to hone your technique and connect to any character.

We’re so excited to bring The Actor’s Lounge at the pioneering new community space just opened in Canterbury – The Big Drum.

Abigail Boyd: Coaching Novice Actors and Award Winning Stars

Hi, I’m Abigail and I’m a professional actress and acting coach.

I have coached actors who’ve had no experience at all and now have agents and are working regularly in the industry.

I currently coach West End stars, Olivier Award-winning actors and TV and film stars from London and all across the UK as well as beginner and aspiring actors giving them all the tools necessary to step into the industry should they want to.

I trained at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama and trained with world-renowned teachers such as Patsy Rodenburg and Jeanette Nelsen. I worked as an actress for 10 years, working at The Globe Theatre and touring the UK and internationally. I then started my own production company and had a TV series commissioned by ITV. I produced films with Danny Dyer and James Redmond and worked with BAFTA award-winning producers.

I’ve helped establish acting schools in London and I still teach there and around the UK.

I am passionate about giving my students a supportive, encouraging, and professional rehearsal space in which to explore and create and to learn a multitude of acting techniques for stage and screen. I’m dedicated to discovering exactly what my students need as an individual to discover their full potential. I can help with all aspects of the industry from how to get an agent to choosing a photographer for headshots

I look forward to working with you!
