Summary:
Course 5 is dedicated entirely to the craft of acting for camera.
You'll develop a thorough understanding of what the screen demands from a performer, covering everything from technical awareness on set to the internal, detailed work that the camera rewards.
You will refine your acting skills and become "industry-ready" with guidance from a supportive Core Tutor and visiting industry professionals.
As the term progresses, the sessions build towards a proper filming experience, giving you the chance to put everything into practice under conditions that reflect the real thing. By the end, you'll have a much clearer sense of how to carry your skills into a screen context and what it takes to work confidently in front of a camera.
This term also comes with the opportunity to film your own scene professionally which can be used for your showreel.
The course also emphasises screen presence and charisma, helping you command attention and create memorable, engaging performances as well as help you make lasting impressions on casting directors and agents.
The term ends with a showcase performance, where you’ll present scenes to peers, tutors, and family. This informal event celebrates your progress and you'll experience the strong sense of the TAL community.
Please note that course content may occasionally change depending on student numbers or tutor availability.
