Term Structure
Each term includes 10 sessions, with a one-week break halfway through for half term. The term concludes with a showcase, where we all come together with friends, family and all the other TAL students in your area, to celebrate and share the work you've done.

Which level is right for me?

Level 1: Learning the Basics
Level 1 is perfect if you’ve never had formal actor training, such as full-time drama school. It is designed to introduce you to the basics of acting, give you essential tools laying a strong foundation that builds confidence and skill.

Level 2: Developing Your Acting Skills
The focus of Level 2 is on becoming a self sufficient actor, prioritising authentic performance and sharpening your skills. Ideal if you’ve completed drama school training but haven’t yet worked professionally. (Note: This level is not suitable for those with only GCSEs, A-Levels, or BTECs in drama.)

Level 3 & Level 4: Going Deeper into the Craft
The Level 3 and 4 courses are best suited for trained actors with professional or industry experience. These courses build on advanced skills and performance, finding out how to bring presence and charisma to your work as well as exploring screen acting. There is also more career and industry support at these levels.

Attendance & Commitment
Much of the work we do in class is based on group participation, so regular attendance and commitment to the course are important. That said, we understand that life happens. If you’re unable to attend a session, just let your course leader know in advance — we’re flexible and understanding.

What to Bring
You don’t need to bring anything – all materials, including scripts, will be provided. Some students like to take notes or highlight their scripts, so feel free to bring a notebook and pen if that suits your learning style. It’s entirely optional.

What to Wear
Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in easily, along with flat shoes. Think practical and relaxed.

Class Size
To ensure everyone gets individual attention and plenty of time to participate, each class is limited to a maximum of 17 students.

Homework
You'll be working with exciting and engaging scripts throughout the course. We encourage you to learn your lines between classes. Occasionally, we may assign additional character work, which you can explore as deeply as you like.

Schedule
All classes run from 7:00pm to 9:30pm on a weekday evening. The specific day depends on your course level and location.
